This morning as I lay in bed cuddling a TwinkerBell, I heard my husband Nick drive off in his Mini and another fit of giggles began.

Last night Nick went off to Rugby practice as usual but I got a message to say his Mini was overheating so he would be late home. The temp gauge for his engine was hitting over 100 and there was a warning light next to it. Not what we need at the moment as my car has a coughing fit every time I try to start it but hey ho that’s another story.

Now, before I continue Rugby is only a quick 15 minute (10 miles) hop on the motorway. At 8:51pm I get a message to say he is on his way home but a meer 7 minutes later at 8:58pm and he has stopped at a supermarket on route as it’s already overheating and to grab some water for the engine.

At this point I don’t think anything of it, when the radiator broke on my real Mini (please note I had a real Mini not a rubbish BMW mini) I only had to stop the once to add water and cool the engine down before making it home. I figured he would add the water and head home so, I put his dinner in the oven and sat down to watch TV.

18 minutes later at 9:16pm when I’m expecting him to be pulling up on the drive I get another message to say he is at the motorway services. It’s not just overheating and needed water, something else is bust he said. I get worried, I have the three kids fast asleep in bed and a potentially stranded husband, this is not good. I ask if he needs picking up thinking I’ll ask friends to either save him or watch the kids for 10 minutes.

He refuses this, as he plans to hang around for an hour or so to let the car cool down and then get it off the motorway and to the McDonald’s which is walking distance from our house. While waiting, he tries to figure out what is wrong with the car, the fan isn’t moving so it could be that but being on the motorway should have cooled the engine… Maybe it’s the water pump, it’s not the head gasket as the water was clear and it didn’t sound like that was the problem. I can’t help here so I leave him to play his guessing game.

At 9:45 I get a message, he left 54 minutes and should have been home about 40 minutes ago. It simply said, possibly being thick af. I then get sent the picture clearly showing he is at the service station… Puzzled I asked him to explain.

It may have been the mileometer…

The warning light is for the tailgate light that’s out….

๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚ what a spoon!

10 minutes later he pulls onto the driveway. It’s taken him the best part of an hour to get home and he sent the picture of him at the services so I had proof he wasn’t sitting in the pub ๐Ÿคฃ

Icing on the cake, you know he stopped at the supermarket to grab some water at the start of the journey… Well, I had pinched his mask the last time I used the car so it was being washed leaving only my mask in the car. A nice pretty pink mask covered in flowers and butterflies ๐Ÿคฃ

In other news, we have finally found a house we love and the offer has been accepted. Lots of decluttering and packing planned for the next few weeks. I am so excited as the new house means not only do my children have the option for their own rooms or a playroom. Nick has an office and Man Cave so no more working in the bedroom. And me, well I get my own workspace ๐Ÿ˜ No more working in the tiny kitchen and trying to store everything under the stairs. It also means I can get a dehumidifier which hopefully means no more activation problems when making my products!
